A perfect new year example is Mandy from RedAgape's latest creation, her Gelato Pops popcorn crochet cushion, which showcases some vibrant colours of Heirloom Cotton 8ply yarn.
We also cannot ignore the amazing new range of colourful yarns by Paintbox, and the name certainly does their yarns justice as these yarns, which come in three different weights and two fibres, literally have any colour you can dream of.
Paintbox yarns come in DK (light worsted) weight, Aran (worsted) weight and Chunky (Bulky) weight, and come in 100% acrylic and 100% cotton fibres and come in 60 shades!!
With the amazing introduction late last year of their mini yarn series as well (currently only available in their advent calendar) I'm expecting some very colourful designs hitting our eyes throughout 2017.
But what stitches or techniques can we expect in 2017? Read on...
I'm feeling very passionate about Tunisian Crochet this year, and I think 2017 will be full of new and exciting projects which incorporate Tunisian stitches, and not just from me. I'm also expecting a lot of crochet enthusiasts keen to learn new Tunisian crochet techniques, and what better than starting on my very own Tunisian crochet Basket Weave zipper bag. This bag utilises the simple Tunisian stitch and the Tunisian purl stitch, and demonstrates how to crochet in a zip and line a bag and is available as a video tutorial on my YouTube channel.
But what about this stunning blend of Tunisian crochet and bold rainbow colours, in Daniëlle's Tunisian Sunset Blanket (in the making).

Either way, I think 2017 is going to be yet another exciting year for crochet, and I'll be keen to see what transpires!
