How To Crochet an Embossed Flower Granny Square - Yarn Scrap Friday

Here is the written pattern for our little embossed flower granny squares! I hope you enjoy.

You will need;

  • DK/Light worsted weight yarn or any yarn you like
  • 3.5mm crochet hook or any hook suitable for your yarn choice
  • Yarn needle and scissors

Round 1
Ch4, sl st in 1st ch to form a loop, crochet 5sc into loop, sl st in 1st sc to join - (5)

Round 2
Ch1, 1sc in same st as previous sl st, 2sc in next st and in ea st around, sl st in ch1 to join - (10)

Round 3
Ch4, sk1, in back loops only work 4dc in next st, ch2, sk2, 4dc in next st, ch2, sk1, 4dc in next st, ch2, sk2, 3dc in next st, sl st in 2nd ch of 4

Round 4
Ch6, 2dc in ch sp below, *1dc in next 4 sts, 2dc in 2 ch sp, ch4, 2dc in same 2ch sp* repeat twice more, 1dc in last 3 sts, 2dc in ch sp, sl st in 2nd ch of 6. Fasten off and tie in all tails.

Round 5
Join your flower colour in 1st front loop from round 3 and crochet [1sc, 1dc, 2tr], [2tr, 1dc, 1sc] in next st, *[1sc, 1dc, 2tr] in next st, [2tr, 1dc, 1sc] in next st* repeat from * to * until end, sl st in 1st sc to join round, fasten off and tie in all tails.
